Generally, they are made by coating ingredients, usually vegetables, in a batter that contains a variety of spices, and then deep-frying them. Onions, eggplant, potatoes, spinach, plantains, bread, cauliflower, mint, tomato, or chilli pepper are some of the common ingredients in pakoda. Typically, the batter is made with gram flour, although other flours, such as buckwheat flour, can be used. Usually, the spices that are used in the batter depending on the cook's taste and may depend on the local tradition; often, fresh and dried spices such as chilli and coriander are used. It's easy to make them, and they're still a delight to savour.
